Must Have - Everlasting Underspore Frond
Some items in the game are remarkable in that they are either insanely useful or very powerful. Let’s take a look at one.
Everlasting Underspore Frond
Profile: Continuously free mana and health regeneration food
Where: Underbog, behind Hungarfen
How: Quest Oh, It’s On!
Loot: Everlasting Underspore Frond gives Underspore Pod
Having trouble finding Mana Biscuits or just tired of the taste? Get your own Everlasting Gobstopper^w Underspore Frond and try Underspore Pod’s. Sometimes tasty and always free.
Sometimes there are with no mages or food vendors in sight. And that’s when you can rely on the Everlasting Underspore Frond to keep you supplied with Underspore Pods. Every twelve hours the frond can make another ten pods which act like food and drink for free health and mana. The Frond has a long cooldown and you can only have a maximum of 20 pods at a time. So this won’t be replacing your main food source, but it helps when you are short. The Pods are also a type of fruit so you can feed them to your Hunter pet, like a Boar. And they don’t disappear when you log out.
There are a couple items in the game which are similar but not as good.
- Bounty of the Harvest creates Harvest Bread. The bread only recovers health and disappears when you log out. You can get the bounty item during the Harvest Festival.
- The Staff of Conjuring creates Conjured Muffins. Good for low level characters.
- Lei of Lilies creates Lily Root. This is more like a healthstone or mini-potion, than food and drink. You can only conjure one root at a time and it shares the cooldown with healthstones.
The quest to get the frond is not difficult. Find the mushroom people in Zangarmarsh, the Sporeggar. T’shu the Elder will convince you to take a trip to the Underbog with the quest, Oh, It’s On! which you can do as early as level 63. When you find the first boss, it has a giant thorn bush behind it. This is where you will find the delicious frond. Ninja it and turn in the quest.
Click the Frond, rinse and repeat. Delicious.
