The Hidden Bosses - Yor
For one reason or another there are several bosses in WoW that most people don’t know about or have been forgotten. Some drop great loot and some are just fun. Let’s take a look at one.
Yor
Profile: Prince Shaffar’s lapdog. Release the hound and get some Yar’s Revenge!
Where: Heroic Mana-Tombs
How: Yor
Loot: A selection of epic level 100 rings, half of which are good for PvP or stamina gear.
I wanted to run heroic Mana-Tombs a few times for some loot and I was curious about Yor so I did what was at the time a difficult quest chain to unlock him. But on my first encounter I was surprised at how easy the fight was. He doesn’t do much special, a simple tank and spank fight, except breath fire which is always fun. So make sure you aren’t in front of him unless you are a tank.
We have talked about other hidden bosses.
The main reasons this boss is off the beaten path is that to spawn him, it requires a quest chain that used to require difficult to find Ethereum Prison Keys. You have to have the quest item using these keys and the dungeon has to be on heroic difficulty. And Mana-Tombs is surprisingly difficult on heroic, so people don’t usually go there unless it for a specific loot item.
However, two things bring visitor’s to Yor. He drops some nice stamina rings. And since the 2.3 patch you can get Ethereum Prison Keys from the dungeon daily quest making it much easier to get the quest item to release the hound.
He’s worth a visit, especially if you like dogs or want to run mana-tombs for loot.
