The Hidden Bosses - Doomwalker and Doom Lord Kazzak
For one reason or another there are several bosses in WoW that most people don’t know about or have been forgotten. Some drop great loot and some are just fun. Let’s take a look at one two.
Doomwalker and Doom Lord Kazzak
Profile: Kill the demon that reopened the Dark Portal and Kil’jaeden’s giant griefing robot. Get some payback and make Illidan happy with you.
Where: Shadowmoon Valley and Hellfire Peninsula
How: Doomwalker and Kazzak
Loot: A wide selection of epic level 120 items. Fat loot before you hit the higher 25 man raids.
My first encounter with Doomwalker was a late night pug raid. Someone decided to to put together a pug group. Recruiting from general and trade along with people arm twisting their own guildies was accompanied by the general choas of organizing a pug raid. Eventually we had our group and converged on the outskirts of the Black Temple. It was a great fight, even though we died that time. But there was nothing like 40 people swooping into the fight with griffons, dragons, ravens, and rays to setup and take him down.
We have talked about other hidden bosses.
Both Doomwalker and Doom Lord Kazzak are world or outdoor bosses, you fight them outside in Shadowmoon Valley and Hellfire Peninsula with no instancing. They are designed for a 25 person raid, but since there is no instance you can bring a full raid of 40 people. This is what makes the fight easy compared to the loot he gives out. However, finding and organizing 40 people is the real challenge here, though some guilds have reported to have downed Doomwalker with 15 and Kazzak with 20 people.
There are a couple reasons these two bosses are less well know and off the beaten path. There is only one at any time for the entire server population. If someone kills it, you’ll have to wait for it to respawn. It takes one to two days for them to spawn after a server restart and two to four days after someone kills it. This means you’ll only see three of them a week, for the entire server. Another reason they are off the beaten path is that their loot is the same quality you will find in Gruul’s and Mag’s Lair. Both these are also 25 man raids and you don’t have to worry about camping the area for when the bosses spawn.
However, the loot is good especially if you are looking for something specific and the fight is easy if you get enough people. The encounter is also a lot of fun, how often to you get to swoop down from the skies into a raid?
Recently Doom Lord Kazzak has become well known to those doing the Shattered Sun Offensive quests. Two of the quests require a trip to the Throne of Kil’jaden where he stands and looks for the next victim that strays too close to his aggro radius.

Updated to note that the Shattered Sun Offensive has disturbed Kazzak’s once peaceful home.
